Ensemble “Rustavi” Administration Press Release, August 7th, 2015
Connecting with the tour to the People’s Republic of China, the singers of the State Academic Ensemble of Georgian Folk Song and Dance together with the artistic director, Mr. Anzor Erkomaishvili are in China. Today in Shenzhen there was held the first significant concert. The members of the Ensemble, who are well acquainted with the success, were awarded with sincere ovations from the present audience. There was performed “Sulico” several times on a “bis”. Deep inspiration and exaltation were caused by popular Chinese songs performed by the “Rustavi” which were specially studied by the Ensemble as a surprise and introduced one-part (monadic) songs to the public with common Georgian polyphony. After the successful start, you can hear Georgian folk and sacred music in Guangzhou.
