Ensemble “Rustavi” Administration Press Release, November 15th, 2019

On November 15th, at 19:00 pm, there will be held a presentation of Anzor Erkomaishvili’s book “Arigatou Gozaimashita Or From Where So Much Smile?!” at the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia.

The book was published under the authorship of Anzor Erkomaishvili, the founder and music director of Ensemble “Rustavi”.

In the book Anzor Erkomaishvili describes Ensemble “Rustavi”’s tour made to Japan in 2018. During 45 days, the dancers and the singers of the ensemble (53 artists in total) held 33 concerts in 21 cities/towns of Japan.

It was a big surprise when Ensemble “Rustavi”’s 50th anniversary coincided with the Japanese tour.

The ensemble’s jubilee was celebrated with a concert and a great feast in Tokyo.

In the book Anzor Erkomaishvili describes the impressions got during the tour in detail. He introduces the traditions and the way of life of the Japanese, their hospitality and the huge success of the concerts to the reader.

The refrain of the book – “From Where So Much Smile?!” is a hint for the reader about the Japanese warmth and love expressed in relation to the Georgian artists.

The book is illustrated and is published in two languages. The Japanese translation belongs to Yasuhiro Kojima. The editor of the book is Ioseb Chumburidze. Ensemble “Rustavi” has close relations with Japan and during the years it has been on a tour to the rising sun time and again.

There are invited employees of the embassy and consulate of Japan to the presentation of the book. Also, there are invited representatives of the diplomatic corps in Georgia.
